The main branch of the Terrebonne Parish Library System is located at 151 Civic Ctr. Dr. in Houma, Louisiana. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm. While there are a number of branches around the parish, the major extensions are the North Branch and the East Branch.
The genealogy collection is located at the main branch on Civic Center Drive. The Genealogy & Local History Room is located on the second floor. As you exit the elevator or stairs, the room is ahead to the left. There are also a number of tables in the room, some with computers. Note: the computers do have a built-in time limit that will log you off after one hour of use.
The microfilm viewing room has one overhead viewer and several viewer/printers. It also has an open book scanner that makes copies of books placed face-up on its scanning bed. The latest equipment is a microfilm scanner that will scan microfilm so that you can save it to your flash drive.
A photocopier will be located against the wall between the microfilm and vertical file cabinets.
