Bottle Rockets
Assignment:
Students, in groups of 2, will construct a rocket of 2 liter bottles. The body of the rocket, a single 2 liter bottle, cannot be damaged, cut, or punctured since it will be under pressure.

Specifications:
   • Additional bottles, fins, a nosecone, etc. can be added. They do not have to be made of 2 liter bottle material.
   • Parachutes are best made of thin plastic material.
   • Accessory parts (ie. nosecone) must be tied to the main body of the rocket so it all comes down together.
   • Longer rockets fly higher.

Testing:
Rockets will be half-filled with water and placed on the launching apparatus. They will be inflated to 60 psi and launched.   The time from launch to landing will be measured, with longer times receiving higher scores. Students will receive a single grade for this project, based on competition.
